Angler's Tackle

Angler's Tackle sits at 1929 W Vista Way in Oceanside, about three miles inland from the harbor — the kind of detour serious anglers make for selection rather than convenience. The shop's own homepage targets both ends of the trip spectrum: "a seasoned veteran planning for that annual long-range trip or a novice angler unsure of what to bring on your first ½ day charter."

The rod wall reflects that — Calstar, Phenix, Shimano, Seeker — and reel cases run Avet, Penn, Okuma, Daiwa. BD Outdoors regulars call the inventory "much more well stocked" than the harbor-side options.

Saturday and Sunday open at 6 a.m., timed to Helgren's and Oceanside 95 sails out of the harbor.
